Advance Your Career with Canada’s First Professional Engineering Doctorate The Leadership in Engineering Applications and Practice (LEAP) Doctor of Engineering (DEng) is a professional doctorate designed for experienced engineers and technical professionals who are ready to expand their leadership capacity, advance innovation, and create meaningful impact within their organizations, industries, and communities. Offered by the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science , this innovative three-year, cohort-based program enables participants to pursue doctoral-level applied research while continuing to work. Through applied research, leadership development, and professional practice, participants develop the expertise needed to lead complex initiatives, solve real-world challenges, and drive innovation. LEAP emphasizes collaborative learning and engagement with industry and academic experts, helping participants strengthen their leadership capabilities and expand their professional networks. These information sessions are also open to organizational leaders interested in exploring how the DEng can support innovation, applied research collaborations, and technical talent development within their organizations.
