The night
Before you go
ABBAblahblahblah: A Swedish Disco Holiday Comedy Special Presented by The Comedy Department Warning: this is not a tribute concert. It’s an improvised comedy and musical parody. Glitter is mandatory. Accuracy is not. In the grand tradition of the classic celebrity Christmas special, the world’s favourite Swedish supergroup is taking over your holidays for one night only! “ABBA” is hosting their very own holiday variety special, complete with questionable choreography, glittering costumes, and more than a touch of international tension. Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Anni-Frid are determined to deliver the perfect Christmas special, no matter what. The catch? None of it is scripted. Every scene is made up on the spot, inspired by the audience, so anything can happen. The band is holding it together with gold tinsel and sheer Swedish determination. Will they pull it off? Or will the whole thing end up a big SOS? ABBA’s greatest hits collide with holiday mayhem in a night of laugh-out-loud improv, ridiculous musical numbers, and plenty of chances to sing along to the hits you (almost) remember. The harmonies are nearly there, but the commitment is absolute. “We had perma-grin throughout t Saturday, November 21, 2026 at the Mary Winspear Centre, Sidney.
