Terms of use

Enjoy Vancouver Island is a directory of places and events in Vancouver Island, plus a question box that answers from that directory. We are not a tour operator, a booking agent of record, or the business behind any listing.

Listings here are assembled and maintained by automated routines working from public sources and from what business owners tell us. Hours change, prices change, events are cancelled, and a venue can close without anyone updating the internet.

The AI concierge writes its answers from that same data. It can also simply be wrong about something — that is the nature of the technology, not a defect we have hidden from you.

• Check anything that matters with the business itself before you drive, pay or plan around it — opening hours, prices, availability, accessibility, and whether an event is still on.
• Nothing here is safety, medical, legal or financial advice. Tides, trails, weather and water are genuinely dangerous on this coast. A forecast on this site is a forecast, not a clearance to go.
• Tell us when something is wrong. Email hello@enjoyvancouverisland.com, or use the claim link on a venue’s own page. Corrections from an owner are the fastest route we have to accurate data, and we act on them.

When you book or buy through a venue’s page, the contract is between you and that business. We pass the payment through Stripe, take a platform fee, and send the rest to the business.

• Cancellations and refunds are the business’s. Their terms govern, and a refund request goes to them. We will help you reach them; we cannot overrule them.
• The business is responsible for what it sells — the tour, the table, the ticket, and for having the licences and insurance to sell it.
• If the payment fails or the booking never lands, email hello@enjoyvancouverisland.com with the confirmation you received and we will trace it.

A paid plan applies to one venue. It renews on its own schedule until it is cancelled, which you can do at any time from the business portal — access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Dropping below the Pro plan unpublishes that venue’s product catalogue.

Claiming a venue means asserting that you are authorised to act for that business. We check claims and refuse the ones we cannot verify. A false claim ends the account.

Reviews, photos and check-ins are yours. By posting them you give us permission to show them on the site and to include them in the pages we publish about that place. Post only what is true and what is yours to post; we remove anything abusive, fake, or infringing, and we moderate reviews before publication.

Do not:

• Scrape or bulk-copy the directory. Crawling to index the site is welcome and the sitemap is there for it; wholesale extraction to rebuild the database elsewhere is not.
• Use the AI concierge to generate anything unlawful, or to attack the service by automated volume.
• Post a review of your own business, or of a competitor’s.
• Interfere with the site, its security, or anyone else’s use of it.

The site’s own writing, design and code belong to us. Venue and event details are facts; photographs come from the businesses, from visitors, or from Google Places under its terms, and belong to whoever took them. Quote us with a link — do not republish pages wholesale.

Links out go to sites we do not control and are not responsible for.

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, complete, or free of errors, and we may change or remove any part of it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from relying on information here or from a transaction with a business listed here. Nothing in this section limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights as a consumer.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Questions, corrections and complaints all go to the same place: hello@enjoyvancouverisland.com.
