About this event
Story Theatre and the BC Black History Awareness Society welcome the public to a special performance of Living Histories: Mifflin Gibbs at the Black and Here Community Centre on Nov 19, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Distinguished Mifflin Wistar Gibbs’ election to Victoria City Council, Mr. Gibbs returns to relive his election in our time of 2026. Mifflin Gibbs was the first Black person to hold any elected office in all of British Columbia. Join us to hear Mifflin Gibbs story, ask questions, and of course, pose for a portrait or two. The Black and Here Community Centre.
