Oh Pray Tell is a multidisciplinary trio that blends music, spoken word and clowning to tell deeply personal and thought-provoking stories. With their powerful three-part harmonies and a blend of cajon rhythms, banjo, and stand-up bass, their sound is rooted in soul, gospel, roots, and rhythm & blues. Their performances explore themes like death, belonging, identity, racism, parenthood, and grief, and combine humility, reverence, humour, and sass to make complex topics accessible and relatable. They invite audiences to reflect on the human experience, offering catharsis and connection beyond the traditional concert format. Oh Pray Tell was founded in 2015 by Sally Titasey and Betty Supple, initially as a stomp/clap and harmony duo dedicated to exploring themes of social justice and the human condition through their music. Their project flourished as a labor of love over the years. In 2021, they received an email from multi-disciplinary artist Shayna Jones, who resonated with their work and wanted to collaborate. Excited by the connection, the trio met in June 2021 at the Langham Theatre in Kaslo, BC, for a day of collaborative exploration.
