About this event
The Metro Studio Theatre. Join us for the world premiere of new short movies created on celluloid Super 8 film by local participants! The One Take Super 8 is a decentralized network of analogue filmmaking challenges and screenings presented across the globe. Since its founding in the year 2000 it has inspired the creation and screening of thousands of films in more than 50 international locations. CineVic proudly brings OTS8 back again for its 7th edition on Vancouver Island. Earlier this summer, participants from Victoria and the surrounding region were given a camera, a roll of film, and one week to create their own 3-minute Super 8 movie. The only catch: no editing. The filmmakers had to capture their scenes in order with no second chances, and they’ll witness their work for the first time along with the audience at two live screenings! Drinks will be available for purchase, and the audience is invited to stay for a short mingle with the filmmakers after the show. Friday + Saturday October 16th + 17th 2026 7:00pm The Greenhouse 1411 Quadra Street (former Metro Studio) Victoria / Lək̓ʷəŋən Territory / BC / Canada $15 Get Tickets >> *CineVic Members, check your email for a discount code* Please note the same film program will run on both nights.
