SONGLINES Indigenous pathways of knowledge across the land and sea
About this event
The private collection of Bryan and Donna Marie Bowers, curated by Zoe Zafiris-Casey. Songlines is a journey from worldwide Indigenous creation stories to European contact stories and current reconciliation stories that reveals the shared human history of the lands we now call Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. It asks: “How can we best renew the light that was, is, and will be again?” Songlines draws from the incredible private collection of Bryan and Donna Marie Bowers, which Bryan describes as “a 40 year labour of both love and loathing as it accurately recounts the shared history of Turtle Island, Australia and Aotaroa”. Bryan will be available on the mornings of October 5, 6 and 7 to discuss the collection. Opening reception: Saturday October 3, 4-6pm, all welcome.
