About
Craigdarroch Castle was built by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir during the reign of Queen Victoria, and stands on Joan Crescent as a National Historic Site. Meticulous restoration is ongoing, giving visitors a glimpse of privileged life in the 1890s through the house's architecture, stained glass, artifacts and the stories of the Dunsmuir family. The castle is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00am to 5:30pm, with tickets available online or on arrival.
