The story

About Rod & Gun Bar and Grill

The Rod and Gun on the Alberni Highway in downtown Parksville has been serving patrons since 1898. John and Ann Hirst started building the Rod and Gun hotel in 1895 to serve the hunters and fishermen who came to the Parksville area, and the large fish sign on the roof has been retained for its historical significance. Today it offers family dining on the Grill side, a pub with a large selection of draught beer, and weekend DJ's and country music.
