About this event
One of the world’s most beloved ballets, with a distinctly Canadian twist! Ballet Jörgen returns to the Tidemark Theatre with Swan Lake, bringing Tchaikovsky’s beautiful music, stunning choreography and the timeless story of love, magic and transformation to life on stage. In this unique Canadian production, Artistic Director Bengt Jörgen reimagines the classic tale against the picturesque backdrop of Nova Scotia’s historic Fortress of Louisbourg. With elaborate sets inspired by the Canadian coastline, gorgeous 17th-century costumes and 24 professional dancers, this fresh interpretation celebrates everything audiences love about classical ballet while offering something a little different. And there’s a special local connection! Talented young dancers from our community will join Ballet Jörgen’s professional company on stage, making this performance an exciting opportunity to celebrate the next generation of dancers right here in Campbell River. Whether you’re a lifelong ballet fan, discovering Swan Lake for the first time or introducing your family to the magic of live dance, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience one of ballet’s great classics. Run time: Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including one intermission.
