Enigmatic singer-songwriter Belle Plaine hails from the heart of the Canadian Prairies. She brings creativity and versatility to every musical moment: a charming folk singer, honkytonk front woman and clear-eyed storyteller. Her eclecticism has seen her perform internationally, with symphonies, at music festivals and in intimate house concerts. Her 2018 album Malice, Mercy, Grief + Wrath was a 2020 JUNO nominee and her duet with Colter Wall on his song “Caroline” achieved gold certification by the RIAA. Her brand new album The Weather will be released on September 18. Produced by Paul Rigby (Neko Case, Garth Hudson), The Weather takes Belle Plaine’s synthesis of folk, early country and roots music in a new direction to exist on the edges of indie rock and country.
