Multifaith Centre. It’s no secret that Victoria has a reputation as a hotbed of Canadian witchcraft. As early as 1989, the city was described as the “per capita witchcraft capital of Canada”... yet the story starts well before that. But why here? What is it about Victoria that has attracted so many witches, pagans and goddess worshippers? And how does UVic fit into that legacy? From heated headlines and provincial politics to the “Satanic Panic” and public-education campaigns, find out why it’s always the season of the witch in Victoria.
