The GVYO kicks off its “Season of Symphonies” with arguably the most iconic masterwork of all, Dvořák’s Symphony no. 9 (From the New World), a piece filled with homesickness and resilience simultaneously. Among the classics is a less familiar work - 21st century composer Kenji Bunch’s powerful and poignant Supermaximum. And as an ode to students beginning a new semester, Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture, which isn’t as studious as one might think… Packed with unforgettable melodies and musical moments, this is a concert you won’t want to miss.
