The Bergmann Duo—with one piano and four hands—are joined in this rich, vibrant performance by violinist Jasper Wood and cellist Sungyong Lim, both of whom have earned international acclaim. Pocket Symphonies offers a fresh take on pieces best known for being performed by a full orchestra—yet the ‘pocket’ versions lose nothing in terms of fullness and exuberance. From one of the most beloved full orchestral pieces of all time—Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony—to Brahms and Mendelssohn, this programme celebrates the rich splendour that results from strings and piano together.
