Salmon, halibut, lingcod and bottom fish charters out of Hardy Bay Road in Port Hardy, sold as all-inclusive packages that cover accommodation, meals, the guide, the boat and packing the catch. Halibut and ground fish run best between May 15 and July 15. Port Hardy is four to five hours' drive from the Nanaimo ferry terminal.
