The School of Environmental Studies Research Colloquium Series presents: Dr. Anna Offenwanger: “Introduction to Participatory Design” Abstract: This talk will provide a short introduction to the Participatory Design (PD) methodology. It will cover the basic structure and common stages of PD research, outline methods commonly used in the various stages, and discuss how to determine the appropriateness of using this approach. Examples will be drawn from various projects including the presenter’s current work on Serious Games for Environmental Decision Making in the context of wildfire evacuation. This talk will be given from the perspective of PD for system design but will discuss the application of the methodology to other fields of research.
